The Italian MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli died last weekend, following a horrible crash at the Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang International Circuit. In the second lap of the race his bike was veered across the track, into the path of Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi. They were not able to evade Simoncelli and hit him terribly. During the accident Simoncelli had his helmet knocked off. After the crash Simoncelli layed motionless on the asphalt. Last weekend Indycar driver Dan Wheldon died in a huge crash during the season finale at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His car became ensnared in a fiery 15-car pileup, flew over another vehicle and hit the catch fence just outside turn 2. The two-time Indianapolis 500 winner was airlifted to the University Medical Center, but it was already too late.
